A woman remains in critical condition following an Ajax pedestrian struck incident involving a vehicle at a busy intersection Thursday morning.
Durham Regional Police said emergency crews responded to reports of a pedestrian collision at approximately 11 a.m. at the intersection of Kingston Road and Ritchie Avenue in Ajax.
Police said the woman suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car and was transported to a Toronto trauma centre in critical condition.
As a result of the Ajax pedestrian struck incident, the intersection was closed to traffic while officers conducted their investigation. Police remained on scene to gather evidence and address questions from the media.
Durham police have not released further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
