A 17-year-old student, already prohibited from possessing firearms, was arrested on Tuesday after being caught with a gun and drugs at Father Donald Maclellan Catholic Secondary School in Ajax.
Police responded to the school on Fairall Street just before 11 a.m. after receiving a tip that a student might be carrying a firearm. Officers located the youth and apprehended him without incident. They discovered a firearm with a prohibited extended magazine and drugs in his possession.
The teen, from Ajax, now faces Ajax High School gun possession charges, five weapons-related charges, charges for possession with intent to traffic a Schedule 1 substance, and failure to comply with a release order.
