The Ajax Creative Arts 6 Decades of Full Colour exhibition is bringing together local artists and families for a special anniversary celebration in Ajax. The three-day spring art show and sale runs from May 8 to May 10, 2026, at the Village Community Centre, 22 Sherwood Road West in Ajax.
The Ajax Creative Arts 6 Decades of Full Colour event marks the organization’s 60th anniversary, celebrating decades of creativity and community involvement through visual arts. Visitors can explore artwork from more than 20 local artists, featuring a variety of artistic styles and mediums designed to appeal to different tastes and budgets.
Organizers say the Ajax Creative Arts 6 Decades of Full Colour exhibition is intended to showcase local talent while creating a welcoming environment for families and community members. The event offers free admission and free parking, making it accessible for residents across Durham Region.
The art show will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., giving attendees plenty of time to browse through two rooms filled with original artwork. Guests attending the Ajax Creative Arts 6 Decades of Full Colour exhibition will also have the opportunity to enter contests for free artwork giveaways throughout the event.
Families attending the show can also enjoy interactive activities for children, including a dedicated kids’ art table where young visitors can create their own artwork. Organizers hope the activity space encourages creativity and family participation during the exhibition.
In addition to the art displays, the Ajax Creative Arts 6 Decades of Full Colour event will feature refreshments at Bonnie’s Café. Visitors can enjoy tea, coffee, and sweet treats while supporting a good cause, as donations collected at the café will go toward Hearth House, a local organization providing support for cancer patients and their families.
The exhibition also offers an opportunity for shoppers to find unique Mother’s Day gifts through locally created artwork and handcrafted pieces. Events like Ajax Creative Arts 6 Decades of Full Colour continue to support local artists while strengthening Durham Region’s arts and culture community.
Ajax Creative Arts has played an important role in promoting visual arts within the community for six decades, and this anniversary event highlights the organization’s long-standing contribution to the local cultural scene.
