Nominations are open for the 2026 Ajax Community Awards, with residents invited to recognize volunteers, groups and businesses that contribute to the town.
The Town of Ajax is accepting nominations until Friday, October 2. Late applications will not be accepted.
Who can be nominated
Nominees may be an individual, group or business. They must live in Ajax, own a business in the town or attend school there, and they must have demonstrated a volunteer commitment within Ajax.
Former residents may be considered for an Ajax Civic Award. A nominee must agree to be nominated.
Current members of Town of Ajax advisory committees may be nominated, except for members serving on the Ajax Community Awards Selection Committee. Current Ajax council members and town employees are not eligible.
Candidates may be nominated in an eligible category each year, but a previous winner cannot be nominated again in the same category. Posthumous nominations will be considered only for volunteer work completed during the application year.
Several recognition categories
The available honours include Community Awards, the Ajax Senior of the Year Award and the Town of Ajax Civic Award.
Town officials say the annual awards recognize people and organizations whose advocacy, service and leadership help build a stronger and more inclusive community.
Residents can review the eligibility requirements and submit a nomination through the official town form. The form requests consent and information about the nominee’s connection to Ajax and volunteer contribution.
