A product recalled in Canada involves certain canopy beds that have been linked to multiple injuries in the United States. The recall, issued by Samson International in cooperation with Health Canada, warns that the structural beams of the bed frames can collapse, posing a serious risk of impact and injury to consumers.
The Nature of the Safety Risk
The recall centers on the Oaklynn Canopy Bed line. According to the official notice, the canopy beams can become unstable and collapse, particularly when the bed is being moved. While no injuries have been reported within Canada as of mid-March, the situation in the U.S. has been more severe.
South of the border, the company has received five reports of the canopy collapsing. These incidents resulted in consumers being struck by the heavy beams, with four individuals suffering head and shoulder contusion injuries. Because the beds are a popular item for families in Ajax and Whitby, officials are moving quickly to prevent similar accidents from occurring in Ontario homes.

The product recalled in Canada specifically includes two sizes of the Oaklynn Canopy Bed sold through Costco’s website. Residents should look for the manufacturing label located on the inside of the bed frame (on the right side when viewed from the foot of the bed) to confirm the following details:
