Durham Weather Week Warm Start Before Snow Returns

The Durham weather week forecast shows a dramatic shift in weather conditions across southern Ontario, bringing a short period of spring-like warmth before colder air and snow return later in the week.

Residents across Durham Region will experience a significant temperature swing as the Durham weather week begins with mild conditions followed by strong winds and a rapid drop in temperatures.

Sunday night will start partly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain overnight. Winds around 40 km/h are expected through the evening while temperatures drop to around 3°C.

Monday will remain mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers early in the morning. Winds will strengthen throughout the day, reaching gusts up to 70 km/h. Temperatures will briefly climb to 14°C, giving a short taste of spring before dropping sharply to 2°C by the late afternoon.

Later in the evening, the Durham weather week forecast indicates that snow could develop before midnight. Up to 2 centimetres of snow may accumulate while strong winds continue overnight. Temperatures will fall to –8°C, and wind chill values could make it feel as cold as –18°C.

Tuesday will stay cloudy with a 60 percent chance of flurries and continued windy conditions. The daytime high will reach about –4°C. Overnight temperatures will drop further to –11°C, with a 40 percent chance of light snow.

Cloudy skies will continue into Wednesday with a daytime high near –1°C. Evening temperatures will fall slightly to around –2°C.

By Thursday, conditions will change again as periods of rain move into the region. Temperatures will reach around 4°C, while the evening may bring cloudy skies and a 30 percent chance of flurries. Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to –2°C.

Friday will remain mostly cloudy with a daytime high of 4°C. Conditions will become unsettled in the evening with a 60 percent chance of rain or flurries, while overnight temperatures fall again to –2°C.

The Durham weather week forecast ends on Saturday with cloudy skies and a 40 percent chance of snow. Temperatures will reach about 3°C during the day, but colder air will return by evening when temperatures drop to –8°C. Wind chill could make it feel closer to –14°C.

Residents across Durham Region are advised to prepare for changing conditions throughout the week as the Durham weather week brings fluctuating temperatures, strong winds, and periods of snow.
