High Risk Offender Oshawa Custody has been returned to custody after previously being released under an Unescorted Temporary Absence Permit, according to Durham Regional Police.
Police confirmed that the individual, who has a history of serious criminal convictions including first-degree murder, had been residing in Oshawa while serving a life sentence.
Durham Regional Police initially issued a public alert on March 2 informing residents that the offender had been released under supervision and that officers would continue monitoring his activities.
Authorities have now confirmed that the High Risk Offender Oshawa Custody situation has changed and the individual has been returned to custody.
