An Oshawa house fire has led to road closures and an ongoing emergency response as firefighters continue working at the scene Monday morning.
In an online update issued around 5:45 a.m., Oshawa Fire Services confirmed crews were actively dousing a structure fire at the corner of Park Road South and Quebec Street. Fire officials did not specify when they were initially called to the scene.
Durham police later confirmed that one person was transported to a Toronto trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries following the Oshawa house fire.
According to freelance photographer Colin Williamson, Park Road South has been closed between Gibb Street and Marland Avenue to allow emergency crews to safely manage the scene.
The Oshawa house fire remains under investigation, and motorists are advised to avoid the area while emergency operations continue.
