Ontario Tech University is expanding student accommodation with the development of a new Ontario Tech student residence Oshawa project known as The Ridge. The new residence is scheduled to open at the university’s north Oshawa campus for the 2027–2028 academic year.
University officials recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of construction for the fourth on-campus residence. The first phase of the Ontario Tech student residence Oshawa development will provide approximately 450 beds, offering one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and four-bedroom suite options.
The residence will be built north of the Campus Ice Centre and forms part of Ontario Tech University’s long-term growth strategy. Future expansion plans for the Ontario Tech student residence Oshawa project aim to accommodate nearly 2,000 students once all phases are completed.
According to university administration, the new housing development supports both academic success and student wellness. The residence will include modern study spaces, social lounges, and student support facilities designed to enhance campus life.
The project is being developed by Campus Suites and Woodbourne and will be managed by Campus Living Centres. University officials state that the Ontario Tech student residence Oshawa project also helps address increasing demand for student housing while supporting regional growth and development.
