A Clarington housing development proposal for 62 new homes in Courtice is set to be reviewed by municipal councillors next month.
The Municipality of Clarington announced that the proposed development, located at 1350 Courtice Road, will be brought before the Planning and Development Committee on February 9, with public input invited.
According to the municipality, the 6.28-hectare site is the subject of applications submitted by GHD on behalf of Brookfield Residential (Ontario) Limited. The applications include an Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-law Amendment, and Draft Plan of Subdivision.
The proposal would allow for:
-
18 street townhouses
-
44 single-detached homes
-
A medium-density residential block
-
A neighbourhood park
-
An environmental protection block
-
New local and collector roads

Municipal officials said the development is intended to provide a mix of housing types while incorporating green space and infrastructure within the Courtice community.
The public meeting will take place on February 9 at 6:30 p.m., either online or in person at Council Chambers, Municipal Administrative Centre, 40 Temperance Street, Bowmanville.
Residents can also watch the meeting live at www.clarington.net/calendar.
The Clarington housing development proposal has not yet received approval, and council will consider public feedback as part of the planning review process.
