A Durham Region snow warning has been issued as an Alberta clipper moves through southern Ontario, bringing accumulating snowfall on Wednesday.
Environment and Climate Change Canada says communities across Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, and Clarington could receive up to 10 centimetres of snow, while areas east of Oshawa may experience heavier snowfall totals.
Snow is expected to begin Wednesday morning and taper off by late afternoon or early evening. Weather officials warn that travel conditions may deteriorate during both the morning and evening commutes.
“Travel will likely be challenging,” the agency said, noting that roads and walkways may become snow-covered and visibility could be reduced at times.
Residents across Durham Region are advised to allow extra travel time, drive cautiously, and monitor weather updates as conditions evolve.
