Police are asking for the public’s help following a Pickering diesel theft attempt at a local business.
According to Durham Regional Police, the incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on October 7 at 24/7 Vacuum Excavation, located at 1720 8th Concession Road in Pickering.
Investigators say a male suspect arrived in a dark-coloured SUV and used bolt cutters to remove chains securing the front gate. The suspect then attempted to steal diesel fuel from two separate fuel tanks before leaving the area. Police did not confirm whether any fuel was taken.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’7” to 5’8” tall, with a heavy build, wearing a black Under Armour hoodie and black pants.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-coloured SUV with a rear passenger-side wheel that differs from the others.
