The Municipality of Clarington is moving forward with a Clarington by-law consolidation that will merge three existing home-related by-laws into a single, comprehensive regulation.
Municipal officials say the review aims to streamline processes, improve clarity for residents, businesses, and contractors, and ensure regulations reflect modern standards. The consolidation will combine the Boulevard By-law, Road Occupancy By-law, and Private Entrance By-law into one unified framework.
A boulevard refers to the municipal land between a roadway and a private property line, often containing grass, trees, or sidewalks. Road occupancy regulations govern the temporary use or closure of municipal roads, typically for construction activities. Private entrance rules apply to driveways or access points connecting private property to municipal roads.
Residents are invited to learn more and provide feedback at a Public Information Centre scheduled for Wednesday, January 28 at 6:30 p.m. The session will be held at Clarington Town Hall, 40 Temperance Street, Bowmanville.
The municipality encourages community participation as it works toward finalizing the updated by-law structure.
