A Ford vehicle recall in Canada has been issued affecting more than 300,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, following two separate recall notices linked to an increased risk of fire.

According to Transport Canada, the recalls involve a total of 332,410 vehicles across multiple model years. The issue affects certain vehicles equipped with an engine block heater, which may leak coolant. If coolant leaks onto the block heater and the heater is plugged in, it could result in a short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

  • Lincoln MKC (2015–2016, 2016–2019)

  • Lincoln Corsair (2020–2022)

The first recall affects 193,627 vehicles, while the second recall impacts 138,783 vehicles. Vehicles that were previously repaired under an earlier Transport Canada recall do not require additional repairs.

Safety advisory: Ford is advising owners not to use the engine block heater until the recall repair has been completed.

Ford will notify affected vehicle owners by mail with instructions to bring their vehicle to a dealership, where the engine block heater will be replaced at no cost.

Owners can check whether their vehicle is affected by visiting Ford’s official recall page or by contacting Ford directly at 1-800-565-3673 and entering their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
