Durham Regional Police are asking the public for cellphone, dash cam, and surveillance footage following a shooting in downtown Oshawa early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to a report of a possible armed person just after 6 a.m. on Simcoe Street, north of Bond Street. Emergency Medical Services confirmed the victim, a man in his thirties, had gunshot wounds. He was transported to a Toronto trauma centre in life-threatening condition but has since been upgraded to stable.
Staff Sgt. Jeff Caplan noted that the exact location of the shooting is not yet known. Investigators are canvassing the area, reviewing witness statements, and urging nearby businesses to check surveillance systems for potential footage.
