Parts of southern Ontario are expected to see significant rainfall on Thursday, with totals reaching up to 20 millimetres in some areas, according to Environment Canada.
The forecast calls for a mix of sun and clouds during the morning across much of the Greater Toronto Area, including Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa, and the Niagara region. A southeast wind of approximately 20 km/h is expected, with daytime temperatures reaching around 10°C in areas such as Mississauga.
Despite the milder daytime high, morning conditions may feel much colder, with wind chill values making it feel closer to -11°C.
Conditions are expected to change later in the day, with a 60 per cent chance of showers developing across the GTA in the evening. Rain is forecast to become more widespread after midnight.
Environment Canada says 10 to 15 mm of rainfall is possible in areas including Burk’s Falls, Huntsville, and Owen Sound, while Parry Sound could receive up to 20 mm.
Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly, as wet roads and changing conditions may affect travel late Thursday and into early Friday.
