There will be no GO train service on the Lakeshore East line on Saturday, November 7, and Sunday, November 8, while crews carry out track signal work between Guildwood GO Station and Rouge Hill GO Station. GO buses will replace train service, and regular train service will resume on Monday, November 9.
The work involves installing new structures for the rail signalling system, including intermediate signal bungalows and two new crossing bungalows, which house rail controls. Some trips departed later than usual on Friday evening, November 6, and some weekend train trips are cancelled and replaced by GO buses.
There will be no GO Transit service at Rouge Hill, Guildwood, Eglinton, Scarborough or Danforth GO stations during the closure. In Durham Region, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Durham College Oshawa GO stations will be served by GO buses instead of trains.
Riders using PRESTO should tap on the device when boarding and exiting the GO bus, not on the machines at the station. Metrolinx advises riders to load money onto a PRESTO card through the PRESTO app or buy a ticket online rather than lining up at the station.
GO Transit announced the November 7-8 service adjustments on October 15 and updated the alert on November 2. Full schedules are available on the GO Transit website.
