A Trent AI panel on Friday, November 6, will give Durham-area participants an online opportunity to explore responsible leadership as artificial intelligence moves into workplaces.
The registration page confirms the session, STRIDE Conversations: Responsible Leadership in the Age of AI, runs from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Microsoft Teams.
Durham Radio News reported November 4 that Trent University in Oshawa is organizing a two-part discussion bringing together expertise from business, health care, technology and AI governance.
First session focuses on adoption decisions
According to the local report, the November discussion will consider where AI creates value, what evidence should inform implementation and how an organization’s governance, operations and strategy may need to adapt.
The format is an online panel, not an announcement of a new AI system being installed at the university or a requirement for employers to adopt one.
Participants can use the linked registration page to sign up. That page identifies the event as a STRIDE conversation and offers registrants the option of receiving information about the Trent Business STRIDE Challenge 2027.
Hiring discussion planned for December
The second panel is scheduled for December 2, Durham Radio News reports. Its proposed focus is fairness, accessibility, privacy, transparency and accountability in AI-assisted hiring.
The report says that discussion will use a case study involving résumé screening, recorded interviews, skills assessments and candidate shortlisting. Registration for the December session is expected after the November event.
The confirmed November registration listing and the secondary report should be read separately: the current registration link is for the November 6 session, not the later hiring panel. No December registration link or unconfirmed speaker list is being supplied.
