Pickering’s Winter Wonderland is scheduled for Saturday, December 5 and Saturday, December 12, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Millennium Square. The city’s event page confirms both dates and the daytime hours.
The waterfront celebration includes festive music and buskers, roaming characters, s’mores stations and holiday activities. The city also describes ice-carving displays, markets, photo stations and arts and crafts. Check the latest program for what is offered on each date rather than assuming every attraction runs continuously.
A daytime waterfront outing
The midday schedule offers an alternative to evening light events. Build your visit around the activities your group most wants to see, and leave room for weather changes. A waterfront setting can feel different from a sheltered downtown street, so choose clothing for the conditions on the day.
What to check before you go
- Any program changes and the timing of individual demonstrations.
- Parking rules, transit options and the walking route to Millennium Square.
- Washroom access and arrangements for anyone who needs assistance.
- Whether optional purchases or activities carry a charge.
The city advises that designated photographers and videographers may record the event for municipal promotional use. It also asks visitors to consider leaving dogs at home if they do not do well with crowds, noise or other dogs. Review the full city policies before attending.
Winter Wonderland is a separate event from November’s Winter Nights, City Lights. For other seasonal dates, see our Durham holiday markets and events planner.
