Blackstock Arena, at 3440 Church Street, will open for the 2026-27 season on Saturday, November 7, the Township of Scugog has advised.
The arena had originally been scheduled to open Monday, November 2. When staff started the ice plant and began making ice, they found compressor issues, which have since been fixed, and the uninsulated arena was also affected by warm weather.
With warmer daytime weather expected over the coming weeks and cooler nights, staffing has been shifted to later in the day so ice can be built during the evenings.
Residents are asked to keep the changed date in mind when planning visits to the facility, booking ice rentals and attending programs. Further details about the facility, including a digital tour and rental information, are available through the Township’s facility booking pages.
