Oshawa Remembrance Day closures will affect downtown streets on November 11, with some full road closures starting at 7 a.m., according to an October 28 City of Oshawa notice.

The parade, hosted by Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43, is scheduled to begin at 10:25 a.m. The city’s event page lists a ceremony at 10:45 a.m. in Memorial Park, 110 Simcoe Street South.

Closures begin before the parade

The city lists full closures from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Metcalfe Street between Centre Street South and Simcoe Street South, and on a section of Richmond Street East. Drivers should consult the linked city notice for the complete closure description.

Additional full closures run from 10:25 a.m. to 1 p.m. on John Street West between Centre Street South and Simcoe Street South, Centre Street South between King Street West and John Street West, and Simcoe Street South between John Street and Bruce Street.

Rolling closures are listed from 10:25 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on sections of Richmond Street, Centre Street and Simcoe Street. These are different from the full-closure periods; motorists should not assume every listed street has the same restrictions for the same hours.

Where to check event updates

The city has linked a road-closure map from its notice. The notice’s Richmond Street segment descriptions include inconsistent directional street suffixes, so this report does not attempt to redraw or correct the route. The official notice and map should be checked when planning access.

For the ceremony itself, the city says all event updates, including severe-weather updates, will appear on its Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony webpage. A Rogers TV livestream link is expected to be available there on November 11, 2026.

The Oshawa Remembrance Day closures notice is a new operational announcement, not a report that the November 11 event has already taken place.
