The Scugog nature photo contest is accepting residents’ images of local plants, animals and scenery for a 2027 calendar.
The Scugog Environmental and Climate Change Advisory Committee has opened its third annual contest to township residents of all ages. The committee plans to select 12 photographs for its 2027 Scugog Nature Calendar.
One first-place image will be chosen for the calendar cover. The remaining selected photographs will appear inside the publication.
October 31 submission deadline
Entries must be submitted by October 31, 2026, through the township’s online form. Participants will be asked for contact information, details about each image and the photo files themselves.
All photographs should show nature within the Township of Scugog. The municipality is encouraging residents to capture the area’s plants, wildlife and landscapes throughout the seasons.
The online form also contains the complete submission rules. Entrants must review and accept those conditions when submitting their work.
Contest marks its third year
The advisory committee runs the contest as a way to showcase Scugog’s natural environment and feature residents’ photography in a community calendar.
People considering an entry should allow enough time to review the file requirements and other rules before the deadline. The township notice does not state a limit on the age of entrants, saying the Scugog nature photo contest is open to residents of all ages.
The municipality announced the contest on October 6. Questions about the notice can be directed to the Township of Scugog through the contact information on its official page.
