A Scugog Ward 4 debate will give residents an opportunity to hear from municipal election candidates at Nestleton Community Centre on Tuesday, October 13.
The community-organized event will include candidates seeking the offices of mayor, regional councillor and Ward 4 councillor. Doors are scheduled to open at 5 p.m., with the debate beginning at 6 p.m.
Limited seating at Nestleton Community Centre
No advance registration is required, according to the event information reported by the Port Perry Star. The community centre has capacity for 150 people, so residents who want to attend may wish to arrive before the 6 p.m. start.
Nestleton Community Centre is in Ward 4, a rural area of the Township of Scugog. Organizers have described the gathering as a Ward 4-focused debate, giving local voters a chance to hear candidates discuss issues affecting that part of the township.
The event covers more than the ward councillor race. Candidates for mayor and regional councillor have also been invited, allowing residents to compare people seeking both local and township-wide offices during the same evening.
Scugog election day is October 26
The Township of Scugog says the 2026 municipal election will be held on Monday, October 26. The town election site also provides voter information and a list of certified candidates.
The Scugog Ward 4 debate is one of several local candidate events taking place before voting day. It is scheduled for October 13 at Nestleton Community Centre, with doors at 5 p.m. and the program at 6 p.m.
