Ajax voting in the 2026 municipal and school board elections will be available by internet or telephone from October 19 through October 26, giving eligible residents an eight-day window to cast a ballot from anywhere.
The Town of Ajax says voting opens at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 19, and remains available around the clock until polls close at 8 p.m. on Monday, October 26. Voter Information Letters are being mailed in October with the instructions and credentials needed to vote.
Three Ajax voting assistance centres
Residents who need help voting can use one of three Voter Assistance Centres at the Audley Recreation Centre, Ajax Community Centre or McLean Community Centre.
All three centres are scheduled to open Thursday, October 22, and Friday, October 23, from 4 to 8 p.m.; Saturday, October 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and election day, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Audley Recreation Centre is at 1955 Audley Road North, with the voting centre accessible through Entrance C on the east side. The Ajax Community Centre is at 75 Centennial Road, where voters should use the south parking-lot entrance near the tennis court. McLean Community Centre is at 95 Magill Drive, with access through the main or east entrance.
Free parking is available at all three locations. Durham Region Transit Routes 915 and 224 serve the facilities identified by the Town.
Check the voters’ list before casting a ballot
A person must be on the voters’ list to cast a ballot. Ajax residents can use the Town’s voter portal to check their registration or submit an application to add, update or remove information.
Eligible voters must be at least 18 years old, be a Canadian citizen and either live in Ajax or qualify as an owner or tenant of land in the municipality, or as the spouse of an owner or tenant. They must also not be otherwise prohibited from voting.
Voters who need to amend the list can apply online or attend the Corporate Services counter at Ajax Town Hall. Amendments will also be accepted at the assistance centres during their operating hours.
The election includes municipal council and local school board races. The Town’s election site also provides the certified candidate list and ward map for residents who need to confirm their voting area.
