Whitby Operation Cozy Toes will return November 2 to collect warm socks and new toys for community members.
The campaign was launched in 2024 to gather socks for people experiencing homelessness. It expanded in 2025 to include new, unwrapped toys for CTV’s Toy Mountain in support of the Salvation Army.
Collection runs through December 4
Donation barrels will be placed at locations across Whitby from November 2 until December 4. The Town has not yet published the full list of drop-off sites and says more details will follow through the mayor’s social-media channels and November newsletter.
Residents planning to contribute toys should leave them unwrapped. The announcement does not specify restrictions on sock sizes or materials, so donors should check the forthcoming official details.
The 2026 collection continues the program’s dual focus on immediate cold-weather needs and holiday support for children and families.
Mayor Elizabeth Roy announced the dates in her October monthly newsletter. Additional information about Whitby Operation Cozy Toes is expected before collection begins.
