Construction at Thickson Road and Rossland Road has prompted two Whitby bus stop changes affecting Durham Region Transit routes 905, 916 and 920.
Stop 94191, Thickson northbound at Rossland on the north side of the intersection, is temporarily closed beginning Tuesday, September 22. Riders on routes 905 and 920 should use stop 93185, northbound at 3193 Thickson Road.
Route 916 stop moved west
Stop 458, Rossland westbound at Thickson, has been temporarily relocated for route 916. The boarding area is now on a temporary asphalt pad about 100 metres west of the intersection.
Both changes are in effect until further notice. Riders should allow extra walking time, use caution around the construction area and check the DRT trip planner or service-alert page before travelling.
The intersection is undergoing a long-term reconstruction project intended to improve traffic flow, accessibility and safety. Lane restrictions are expected to continue in stages, with construction suspended during the winter before resuming in spring 2027.
