Five Durham waste closures are scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The Oshawa Waste Management Facility at 1640 Ritson Road North, Scugog Waste Management Facility at 1623 Reach Street in Port Perry and Brock Waste Management Facility at C22480 Brock Sideroad 17 in Cannington will be closed.
Whitby and Clarington locations also affected
The Clarington Household Special Waste Depot at 1998 Bowmanville Avenue and the Waste Management Centre at 4600 Garrard Road in Whitby will also close for the day.
Residents who need a new or replacement green bin or kitchen container can place an online order for free home delivery rather than visiting the Whitby sales location.
The announcement applies to the listed drop-off and waste-management locations. Residents should check Durham Region’s service-disruption page for current information about other regional programs and services before travelling on September 30.
