Applications are open for the 2026-27 Clarington snow clearing program for eligible seniors and residents with physical disabilities.
The municipal service clears the sidewalk in front of and beside an approved property, along with the windrow left at the end of the driveway after a plow passes.
Who qualifies for the program
Applicants must be at least 65 years old or have a physical disability certified by a licensed physician. A household is not eligible if an able-bodied person under 65 lives at the address.
Service begins within 24 hours after snowfall ends when a single storm leaves more than 7.5 centimetres of snow. Residents remain responsible for clearing smaller accumulations.
Applications due October 31
Registration is open through October 31, and the seasonal fee is $107.69. Returning participants can register online. New applicants and residents with a temporary disability must apply in person at a listed Clarington recreation facility.
Registration locations include the Alan Strike Aquatic and Squash Centre, Courtice Community Complex, Diane Hamre Recreation Complex, Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex and South Courtice Arena.
