Durham Regional Police are conducting a Whitby death investigation after a woman was found injured near Brock Street North and Starr Avenue on Sunday evening.
Officers responded to an unknown-trouble call in the area at about 7:20 p.m. on September 20. Police said they located a woman suffering from injuries and she was later pronounced dead.
Circumstances remain under investigation
Police had not released the woman’s identity, age or the nature of her injuries as of the latest public update. Investigators also had not said whether the death was considered suspicious or whether anyone had been arrested.
DRPS told local media that all circumstances leading up to the incident were still under investigation. Residents should avoid speculation while police work to determine what happened.
