The Graziella jewellery closure has shut the family-run retailer’s Oshawa and Whitby stores after the business was placed into receivership.
Graziella Fine Jewellery said the receivership began unexpectedly on September 11. The family said it no longer controls the business it built over 30 years.
Repair pickups set for September 25
The retailer said personal jewellery left with the stores is safe. Whitby customers can pick up repairs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, September 25. Oshawa pickups are scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m.
The statement says outstanding balances must be paid in cash. The team plans to contact affected customers with details before the pickup date.
Customers should bring repair documentation and wait for direct instructions before travelling. The public statement did not provide further details about the receivership.
Family seeks a path forward
The Basmaji family said it is working to find a way to return to serving customers. No reopening date or replacement location has been announced.
