Beaverton subdivision construction is moving forward again after years that included delays and periods of inactivity, according to the Township of Brock.
The work is taking place at the Beaverton Lake Homes site near Thorah Concession 5 and Osborne Street. Durham Radio News reported the township’s update on Monday, September 14.
Site work will prepare approved subdivision
The next phase is expected to include earthworks, deep sewer servicing, rock breaking and pond construction. Those activities are intended to prepare the property for the residential subdivision already approved for the site.
The township acknowledged that the project’s slow progress has frustrated members of the community. Officials said the municipality is working with the developer to keep the project moving.
Brock also pointed to provincial direction that calls on municipalities to support new housing development. According to the township’s statement, prospective buyers continue to show interest in moving to the area.
What nearby residents can expect
Earthworks, sewer installation and rock breaking can bring construction traffic, noise and visible changes to a site before home building begins. The announcement did not give a completion date for the subdivision or a detailed schedule for each stage.
Residents should rely on future Township of Brock notices for confirmed timing, traffic impacts and any changes to the approved work. The restart concerns site preparation and does not by itself establish when homes will be ready for occupancy.
