Pickering volunteer applications are now open for 12 municipal boards, committees and taskforces that advise council and support local decision-making.
The City of Pickering opened applications on September 14 and will accept submissions until 11:59 p.m. on November 1, 2026. The recruitment covers bodies working on accessibility, community safety, culture, heritage, public services and the waterfront.
Available opportunities include the Accessibility Advisory Committee, Animal Services Appeals Committee, Committee of Adjustment, Community Safety and Well-being Advisory Committee, Cultural Advisory Committee and Heritage Pickering Advisory Committee.
The city is also recruiting a livestock valuer and members for the Property Review Committee, Pickering Anti-Black Racism Taskforce, Pickering Public Library Board, Vehicle for Hire Committee and Waterfront Visionary Advisory Committee.
How civic volunteers contribute
Municipal boards and committees bring resident experience into the local government process.
