The Rotary Club of Uxbridge’s latest Catch the Ace lottery has delivered $165,583 to the Uxbridge Hospital Foundation after a record 51-week run.

The foundation will direct the money toward medical equipment and technology for specialized patient-care areas in the new Uxbridge hospital, according to a report published by the Uxbridge Cosmos.

The same lottery round produced a record grand prize of $186,094. Rotary says the winner, identified publicly by the club as Carter P., found the ace after the progressive draw had continued for almost a year.

New round begins in September

A new Catch the Ace round is scheduled to launch at 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 9. Weekly live draws will then be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning September 16 at The Second Wedge Brewing Co. in Uxbridge.

The starting progressive jackpot is $2,500. Draws will continue until a ticket holder selects the envelope containing the ace of spades.

Organizers are also introducing an optional membership feature for regular players. Members can arrange to receive a weekly ticket without entering the same information again for every draw. Payments will continue to be processed weekly, and participants can opt out.

How Catch the Ace funding is divided

Catch the Ace combines a weekly prize with a growing jackpot and a charitable contribution. Twenty per cent of ticket sales is awarded to the weekly winner. Another 30 per cent is added to the progressive jackpot until the ace of spades is selected.

The remaining 50 per cent, after eligible expenses, is the charity share supporting the hospital project. The Rotary Club says its Catch the Ace draws have awarded more than $320,000 in prizes to date.

The Uxbridge hospital lottery proceeds support a broader redevelopment intended to create a modern hospital for the community. Oak Valley Health currently operates a 20-bed Uxbridge hospital providing emergency, diagnostic and other services.

Ticket details, rules and current jackpot information are available through the official Uxbridge Catch the Ace website linked by the Rotary Club.
