Scugog Line 6 will close between Lake Ridge Road and Marsh Hill Road for one day on Thursday, September 10, while crews replace a cross culvert.

The Township of Scugog says the full-day closure is expected to remain in place through Thursday. The road is scheduled to reopen Friday, September 11, weather permitting.

Where Scugog Line 6 will be closed

The affected section runs from Lake Ridge Road to Marsh Hill Road. The culvert being replaced is about 150 metres east of Lake Ridge Road.

Local traffic will be maintained during the work, but other motorists will need to use surrounding roads. Drivers heading west can reach Lake Ridge Road by travelling along Medd Road to the north or Goodwood Road to the south.

Eastbound motorists can use the same alternatives to reach Marsh Hill Road: Medd Road north of Scugog Line 6 or Goodwood Road south of it.

Plan for rural-road detours

The township has asked anyone visiting the area to account for the closure when planning their trip. Because the route crosses a rural part of Scugog, detours can add distance and travel time even though the construction is expected to last only one day.

The reopening date is conditional on the weather and the progress of the culvert replacement. Drivers should watch for temporary signs and follow instructions from crews near the work zone.

Residents can check the township’s Traffic Watch information for road-project updates before travelling. Emergency access and any changes to the construction schedule are managed by the municipality.
