Residents and visitors are invited to celebrate Canada Day in Ajax with an afternoon and evening of live entertainment, cultural performances, family activities, and one of Durham Region’s largest fireworks displays.
The Town of Ajax will host its annual Canada Day Celebrations on Wednesday, July 1, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., bringing the community together for a full day of entertainment, interactive experiences, and patriotic festivities.
The free event offers activities for all ages, making it one of Ajax’s signature summer celebrations. Families can enjoy children’s games and activities, while visitors explore interactive exhibits, community booths, and a vibrant local marketplace throughout the afternoon and evening.
A diverse lineup of cultural performances and live entertainment will showcase the rich multicultural spirit of Ajax, highlighting local talent and celebrating the community’s cultural diversity. Performances will take place throughout the day, providing continuous entertainment for attendees.
Food lovers will find plenty of options with a variety of food vendors serving local favourites and international cuisine. Beer vendors will also be available for adults looking to enjoy refreshments while taking in the festivities.
To ensure everyone can participate comfortably, organizers will provide a dedicated sensory zone designed to offer a quieter, more accessible environment for individuals who may benefit from reduced sensory stimulation.
Community organizations and local businesses will also be on site with information booths, giving residents an opportunity to learn more about programs, services, and initiatives available throughout Ajax.
The celebration will conclude with a spectacular fireworks finale beginning at 10 p.m., lighting up the night sky and marking the end of Canada Day festivities. The annual fireworks display remains one of the most anticipated highlights of the event, attracting families from across Ajax and Durham Region.
Ajax Canada Day Celebrations continue to serve as an important community tradition, bringing together residents of all backgrounds to celebrate Canada’s heritage while strengthening community connections through music, culture, entertainment, and family-friendly activities.
