A new and exciting food destination is coming to Durham Region, as a 2-in-1 bubble tea and Korean hot dog concept opening in Oshawa is set to bring a unique mix of drinks and street food to the city’s growing north end. The upcoming location will combine two globally recognized brands, Gong Cha and Arirang Hotdog, under one roof, offering customers a trendy and flavour-packed experience.
The new spot will be located in the Windfields area of Oshawa, near the intersection of Simcoe Street North and Windfields Farm Drive, in a busy plaza alongside popular businesses like Domino’s Pizza. This area has quickly become a hotspot for new food openings, making it an ideal location for this innovative concept.
The 2-in-1 bubble tea and Korean hot dog concept opening in Oshawa brings together Gong Cha, an internationally known bubble tea brand, and Arirang Hotdog, a well-loved Korean street food chain. Gong Cha was founded in Taiwan and has grown rapidly, now operating over 1,650 locations in more than 20 countries. The brand is known for its commitment to quality, using premium loose-leaf teas such as black, green, oolong, and Earl Grey, brewed with precise timing and temperature.
Customers visiting Gong Cha can expect a wide variety of customizable drinks, including classic milk teas, refreshing fruit teas, and specialty beverages. Popular toppings like tapioca pearls and flavoured jellies allow customers to personalize their drinks. To ensure freshness, Gong Cha prepares new batches of tea and pearls every four hours, maintaining a consistent and high-quality experience.
On the food side, Arirang Hotdog offers a unique twist on traditional corn dogs with its Korean-style creations. Founded in South Korea in 2014, the brand has expanded to more than 500 locations worldwide, including several across Ontario. Their menu features signature items such as sausage corn dogs, potato-coated variations, and creative options like poutine-style corn dogs topped with cheese curds and gravy.
In addition to corn dogs, Arirang Hotdog also serves a variety of side items, including chicken nuggets in flavours like honey garlic and sweet chili, as well as cheese balls, fries, and soft drinks. The combination of sweet bubble tea and savoury Korean street food is expected to attract a wide range of customers, from students to families and food enthusiasts.
The 2-in-1 bubble tea and Korean hot dog concept opening in Oshawa will join other Arirang Hotdog locations already operating in Ontario, including in Mississauga, Milton, and Toronto. However, this combined concept offers something new and unique to Oshawa, blending two popular food trends into one convenient location.
While an official opening date has not yet been announced, anticipation is already building among local residents. The arrival of this new food spot highlights Oshawa’s continued growth as a destination for diverse dining experiences and modern food concepts.
As excitement grows, residents in Oshawa and across Durham Region can look forward to enjoying this fresh and innovative addition to the local food scene in the near future.
